| RE: | Neville Peterson LLP Attorneys Address Trade Conferences Worldwide |
Several Neville Peterson LLP attorneys recently made presentations to international trade forums around the globe. Copies of their presentations are available on the website.
Maria E. Celis and John M. Peterson recently delivered a presentation to the Mediterranean American Business Network (MABN) in Aix-En-Provence, France, concerning Fundamentals of International Trade with the United States. The seminar discussed formation of contracts for the international sale of goods, reconciling differences between civil code law and common law systems in contract drafting, and understanding U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Food and Drug Administration programs for ensuring cargo security in respect of products imported into the United States.

John M. Peterson recently addressed the Irish Exporters’ Association conference on the European Union’s new “Authorized Economic Operator (AEO)” Regulation, held in Dublin, Ireland. The Authorized Economic Operator status is the EU’s regulation providing certification and special privileges for importers who demonstrate that they are highly compliant with Customs’ commercial requirements and have a suitable cargo security program. Mr. Peterson spoke on United States experience with C-TPAT, ISA, the Carrier Security Initiative and the Bioterrorism Act, and how these programs compare with, and will likely interact with, the AEO program.
