| RE: | European Commission Considers Application for Tariff Suspensions |
The European Commission has received more than 100 applications for the temporary suspension of tariffs and tariff rate quotas covering a wide range of products. If the applications are acted on favorably, duties or TRQs on the subject goods could be suspended for up to three years, beginning January 1, 2009.
Products for which suspensions have been proposed include a wide range of chemicals, plastics articles, metal products, and manufactured electronic products.
The Commission will now consider comments and objections from member states and from interested companies.
To comment in support of or in opposition to any of these duty suspension applications, please do not hesitate to contact us for assistance. In addition, if your company is interested in having tariffs in the EU suspended on other products, please let us know, and we can arrange through one of our European correspondent offices to have the appropriate applications prepared and submitted.
Applications For Tariff Suspensions/Quotas Beginning 1st January 2009
