John B. Totaro, Jr., resident in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, advises clients on a range of international trade and Customs law matters. He is a graduate of Kenyon College and the University of Richmond’s T.C. Williams School of Law, and he earned a Masters of Law degree from the University of Amsterdam. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Mr. Totaro’s practice includes assisting U.S. importers to comply with their responsibilities under U.S. Customs law and advising firms on compliance with U.S. export control laws and economic sanctions programs. He has represented domestic producers, foreign producers and U.S. importers in antidumping proceedings, and before beginning his law practice he served as a senior import compliance specialist with the Import Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce. In addition, Mr. Totaro counsels U.S. and foreign-based clients on trademark matters and prosecutes trademark applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
