Michael T. Cone
Michael T. Cone is of counsel to the firm and resides in its New York office. He practices in the areas of administrative law, customs compliance, and international trade.
Mr. Cone counsels clients on a broad array of regulatory compliance issues. His administrative expertise includes matters falling under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection, the Food and Drug Administration, the Fish & Wildlife Service, the Federal Trade Commission, the Consumer Products Safety Commission, and a variety of other administrative bodies that regulate the importation and sale of merchandise. He also represents clients in all phases of litigation before federal and state courts, including the U.S. Court of International Trade.
Mr. Cone earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, his law degree from Wayne State University, and his LL.M. in international business law from American University's Washington College of Law. He served as a law clerk to the Hon. R. Kenton Musgrave of the U.S. Court of International Trade, and as an intern to the Hon. Carol T. Crawford of the U.S. International Trade Commission.
Mr. Cone is fluent in French, and has studied and practiced law in Paris. He is an expert translator of French business and legal documents.
